There is Life After 50
When people around my age of 51 complain about "being old," it's like nails on a chalkboard.
I just turned 51 last month and I feel like I'm in better shape than I was in my 20s.
How can I say that? Aren't I supposed to be "old."
I can say it because I've accrued a lot of wisdom over all the years as a personal trainer.
My training plan is much more solid than it was when I was a "twenty something meathead" who only cared about impressing girls on the beach or at the bar.
Back then it was all about vanity. Now it's about longevity.
"Old" is a state of mind. I don't classify myself as old. I still feel like an athlete with many good years in me.
My clients are experiencing the same success.
Charlie is deadlifting well over 300 pounds and has dropped over 25 pounds this year.
He recently mentioned he's in the "best shape of his life." Now! In his late 50s!
He has spent many of his weekends doing hard manual labor at his new cabin and his body has held up well.
Proverbs 23:7 says "For as he thinks within himself, so he is"
So how do you think of yourself?
Is it time to start hitting Perkins at 4:30 for dinner and taking geritol before bed?
Or is it time to push back?
Despite what most people think, THERE IS LIFE AFTER 50.
You can still make great progress.
