How To Attack Big Scary Goals
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
This is my favorite passage because I believe we can achieve great things but we sell ourselves short because we don't approach them the right way.
Last week I was blessed to go skiing in Colorado with my brother.
I went down some 'black diamond' hills meaning they are ranked "most difficult."
This means they are steep and sometimes have lots of bumps on them which can make them intimidating.
Probably, the worst thing you can do is look at the bottom of these imposing hills.
You can really get psyched out and ski timidly which usually leads to a wipeout or at best a crappy run.
Big scary goals can look like black diamonds sometimes...daunting and intimidating.
What I've learned about tackling both big goals and black diamond ski runs is to take them section by section instead of looking all the way ahead.
When skiing, I focus on the current section of the hill I'm on and on making good turns in the best places with no ice or hazards.
In no time at all I'm down the big scary hill.
Goals function much the same way. When attacked section by section, they become less intimidating and ultimately much more achievable.
What big health and fitness goals do you have for 2021?
Do they seem overwhelming and daunting?
Much like a big scary black diamond run we'll break the goal into smaller parts and help you make it a reality.
Reply to this email and let's tackle the 'black diamond' together.
Dedicated to your goals,
