Let's Turn Your SHOULD HAVE Into DID

I work with a lot of people. So many of them know the right things to do, but they rarely do it. I hear it all the time - just like the scripture says.
I call it the "Should Syndrome."
-I should get in shape...
-I should eat better...
-I should lose weight...
-And on and on and on....
If I had a dime for every person I hear "shoulding" all over themselves, I could retire in the Caribbean on my luxury yacht.
If we continue to fail to do what's right, then we suffer. Our health suffers. Our relationships suffer. And our quality of life just sucks.
We end up saying..."I should have done something to prevent this."
And here is what's worse...
The real sin is that it doesn't just affect you. It affects all those closest to you.
I know a guy in my neighborhood whose health has hit the wall largely because of his poor lifestyle habits.
His health issues have put an extra load of stress on his wife. He can't help out around the house and isn't the husband and father he'd like to be.
I'm sure he is telling himself he 'should have' taken better care himself. He is reaping the consequences.
