"For though a righteous man may fall seven times, he still gets up." Proverbs 24:16.

Too often we when we fail (fall down) we think of it as a negative thing.

This shouldn't be the case.

Have you ever heard the term "failing forward?"

Thomas Edison knew this.

One of his most famous quotes is "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Failing is really learning.

Even when you get knocked down by a failure it's important to rise up and learn from it.

The only time you truly "fail" is when you don't get up and keep moving forward.

I can honestly say I've learned more from my failures than I have through schooling and education.

Failure and dumb mistakes have taught me a lot when it comes to training smarter.

I remember a time when I tried to push myself through a heavy legs day even though I knew my lower back was compromised.  I ended up really jacking up my back and it kept me down for months.  This is where I learned about deload weeks and the concept of "living to fight another day."

Thankfully, many of my clients never have to experience these things because I "failed forward" and can keep them from the same pitfalls.

Are you still "failing forward" when it comes to your fitness goals?

Do you feel ready to give up?

Another great Thomas Edison quote says  "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."

Don't give up! Success is likely just around the corner.
