One More Round
Proverbs 24:16 says "For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again"
Who can forget the Rocky movies? As cheesy as they are, they are forever etched in the American culture.
It seems like every Rocky movie featured a big fight in the end where Rocky was getting beat up but is able to muster up enough strength to come back and win.
There have been many days I have felt like Rocky as issues keep coming up and hitting me like punches to the face.
Challenges with my business, nagging injuries, and a financial setback have all come up.
It would make sense to back off and "play it safe" in all these areas. Most people would say it was justified.
- Business is challenging. Then quit. Shut it down or start laying people off.
- You get a nagging injury. Either stop training or do light and easy workouts.
- A financial setback. Start cutting back on everything and become a cheapskate.
At the beginning of this year I came up with my theme to "take ground" in all areas of my life. I'm committed to do just that!
I've made the decision to stay the course and accomplish EXACTLY what I set out to do - no matter what.
Life is fight and I'm getting up. I've got many more rounds in me and the "bell hasn't rung" on my goals.
I've still got a lot of fight in me. The toughest fights bring the sweetest victories.
Here is a scene from Rocky 5 when Rocky is getting beat down by Tommy Gunn but manages to dig deep, come back and win the fight. Watch it here.
